Warranty and Service Contracts

A stairlift is a substantial piece of engineering and so, just like a boiler or car, should be serviced every year to keep it in perfect working condition.

Here is an introduction to our warranty, extended warranty and service contracts.

A stairlift brings invaluable independence and many of our customers come to rely on their Stannah stairlift to keep them active in their own home.

That is why it is vital to ensure that, in the unlikely event you experience a problem with your stairlift, you have a warranty and servicing contract that you can rely on.


As standard, all our new stairlifts come with a two-year product warranty that includes two free services, one service each year. Our reconditioned stairlifts come with a one-year product warranty and includes one free service during that year.

Extended warranty (available to purchase prior to installation only)

When ordering your stairlift, you have the option to purchase an extended warranty at a discounted price. We hope that your stairlift will give you many years of service. This additional extended warranty gives you the peace of mind that everything will continue to run smoothly for as long as you need it.

Don’t worry, we understand that circumstances may change and so if for any reason you wish to cancel your agreement during your extended warranty period, we will of course refund any remaining complete years (any years without a completed service or call out).


These are the savings that are available if the extended warranty is purchased at the point of sale.

Service contract

If you choose not to take out an extended warranty when purchasing your stairlift, you will still have an option to purchase a service contract after the product warranty has expired. You can choose from our 3 star or 5 star service contracts.

Here’s a handy table that explains what’s included with each option, to help you decide which one is right for you.

* Please note, when purchasing our service contracts at the end of your product warranty period, all call outs that are outside of our normal working hours are chargeable.

** We appreciate it may take time to get used to your new stairlift so we’ll always work with you to prevent further occurrences, but should there be repeated occurrences we may need to charge a fee.
